HOW IT ALL BEGAN
OUR STORY
I remember my brothers and I working with my Dad and Uncle at very young age. We started off as most do, cleaning floors and picking up tools. As we did this we watched and listened to the processes of how to construct and build various structures.
The first type of jobs we labored on were roofing. We soon knew how to tear off and put back asphalt shingle roofs. The second type of jobs were building decks. This was our first introduction to framing.
Between the ages of 8 and 13, we had worked on 50 to 75 roofs, 30 to 40 decks, and several house builds and additions.
Later in my teenage years, my dad and uncle developed Pierpont heights and that is where my construction experience went to the next level. The market was booming, and the turn key was 90 days on each unit.
After that, in my early 20’s my brothers and I left the family business and started our own. By this time, we had framed over 40 homes and townhomes, and shingled over 100 roofs.
Struggling with years of addiction, I received treatment and learned there was a different and healthier way to live.
“I had to change the way I looked at the world, I had to change the way I looked at my peers, I had to change the way, most importantly, change the way I look at myself.”
After getting help, I wanted to help others by employing hard working individuals to give them a chance to succeed.
For the next 10 years we continued framing and roofing for various contractors. One in particular was Hastings Construction. Hastings hired us to assist in their framing, which included 3 hotels, 1000’s of squares of shingles, and over 1000 apartments. During those last 10 years, I truly became a professional.
In 2016 I decided to leave the comfort of Hastings Construction and my brothers. This is when Impact was born. In order to fulfill my dreams and the desire to build a great company, going on my own was something I had to do.
Today, more than 2 years later, we have 10 employees and have completed over 150 jobs that include roofs, decks, and commercial framing.
